About the Company

Leap is a rapidly scaling benefits platform and a trailblazer in employer specialty pharmacy. The company is changing how complex therapies are accessed and funded, aiming to help patients receive the care they need while giving employers a more transparent and equitable deal.

Specialty medications and infusion treatments account for close to 10% of healthcare spending and continue to be the fastest-rising expense for employers. Leap addresses this problem by removing concealed markups, widening access to top-tier infusion providers, and making pricing and payment for these therapies clearer and fairer.

Leap works with many Fortune 500 organizations and major TPAs. The company emphasizes measurable impact for each patient it supports through reduced costs, better access, and improved care.

About the Role

Leap is looking for its first designer to shape the brand and experience patients and families encounter. This role is central to how the company communicates with people during stressful and clinically serious moments, such as a new diagnosis or an unfamiliar treatment path.

The initial focus is Member Growth: creating campaigns and member communications that introduce Leap, build trust quickly, and make the next action feel straightforward. Beyond campaigns, the role owns the broader patient-facing experience across discovery, understanding options, care scheduling, treatment preparation, ongoing engagement, and return visits for support.

This position requires a designer who can switch easily between strategy and execution. You might be mapping a patient journey, learning where members struggle from a Care Guide, designing a landing page, refining a direct mail concept, improving message structure, or creating reusable patterns for the broader team. The work is highly hands-on, but the effect is intended to reach the whole company.

You are not expected to be a copywriter, researcher, product manager, or front-end engineer. However, you should be able to collaborate strongly with each of those functions by bringing design judgment, polished taste, clear communication, modern production skills, and comfort with ambiguous problems.

What You’ll Do

  • Set the design bar for Leap’s patient-facing experiences across marketing, onboarding, education, therapy support, and reactivation, ensuring the brand feels credible, human, and action-oriented.
  • Map and improve the full member journey by partnering with growth, care, clinical operations, product, and content teams to reduce confusion, hesitation, and drop-off throughout awareness, scheduling, onboarding, treatment support, adherence, and reactivation.
  • Create the design infrastructure that enables scale, including reusable patterns, templates, components, quality checks, AI-supported workflows, and production standards spanning web, email, direct mail, print, swag, educational assets, and internal tools.
  • Design conversion-focused campaigns across direct mail, email, landing pages, paid media, multi-step funnels, and related channels, with decisions centered on clarity, trust, conversion, and action.
  • Translate complicated healthcare information into experiences that are easy to understand while staying accurate, responsible, and emotionally considerate.
  • Work as both creative lead and hands-on producer by shaping briefs, guiding visual direction, improving hierarchy, coordinating copy, illustration, motion, web, lifecycle, and vendor work, and still producing polished final assets yourself.

Requirements

  • Broad design background with strong judgment around patient or customer experience, including experience simplifying complex decisions, lowering friction, and building trust in lifecycle marketing, member engagement, patient education, or other high-consideration environments.
  • Solid UX, product, and research instincts, with the ability to map journeys, design flows, synthesize qualitative insight, and collaborate with users and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in direct-response or growth design, where outcomes were tied to conversion, activation, enrollment, response, lead generation, or another measurable action.
  • Strong visual design execution and message hierarchy skills, including effective use of typography, layout, imagery, pacing, narrative, headlines, and calls to action.
  • Ability to build scalable systems rather than single assets, including templates, standards, patterns, and workflows that improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Practical experience across print and digital production, including direct mail production, landing page launches, email constraints, asset QA, and vendor collaboration, along with comfort using modern design tools and opinions about AI in creative workflows.
  • Ability to direct external creative partners such as agencies and contractors with clear briefs, high standards, and steady project management.
  • Strong ownership, humility, and comfort operating in regulated, emotionally sensitive, and complex environments where accuracy and nuance matter.

Nice to Have

  • Background in healthcare, benefits, insurance, pharmacy, financial services, or another regulated industry.
  • Experience with marketing and lifecycle tools such as HubSpot, Customer.io, Braze, Iterable, Mailchimp, Webflow, or Framer.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS, responsive design, accessibility, and the practical constraints of email and landing pages.
  • Experience with motion, GIFs, video, illustration, or lightweight digital ad production.
  • Experience improving creative systems, templates, design systems, AI-assisted production, or campaign QA workflows.

Additional Information

Leap says it is building a standout company with meaningful impact, which requires focus, energy, and commitment. It is an equal opportunity employer and encourages applications from people of all backgrounds, perspectives, experiences, and identities.

Compensation

The listed compensation range is $140,000 to $190,000 per year.
