Role Overview
Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Kelowna Airport is seeking a Housekeeping Runner to join a positive, team-oriented environment where people take pride in their work and support one another. The property is located in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, and is accessible by bus, with a stop right outside the hotel. Employees can also use the complimentary shuttle service from the UBCO bus loop.
This opening is available as a permanent full-time or part-time position.
Key Duties
- Present yourself in a neat and professional manner at all times, including a clean uniform and name tag.
- Arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled shift begins.
- Carry out assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and with strong attention to detail.
- Respond to guest requests quickly and provide helpful support.
- Be comfortable switching priorities when guest needs take precedence.
- Complete repetitive housekeeping tasks such as stripping rooms, making beds, collecting used linens, and removing garbage.
- Work effectively on your own and also contribute well in a team setting.
- Understand the hotel’s facilities and services so you can guide guests appropriately.
- Help with laundry tasks, including washing, delivering linen to floors, and sorting the laundry chute when needed.
- Move and distribute laundry manually to assigned locations.
- Restock storage areas with guest supplies for room attendants.
- Clean linen rooms and electrical rooms as assigned.
- Follow lost-and-found procedures carefully, including proper bagging and tagging.
- Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in line with MSDS requirements.
- Replenish housekeeping carts with linen, guest supplies, and cleaning products.
- May be asked to clean guest rooms and complete stayover service for in-house guests.
- Complete all required brand training.
- Support other departments when needed and help solve issues as they arise.
- Be available for varied shifts, including days, weekends, and holidays.
- Assist with property walks and parking lot clean-up tasks.
- Follow all company health, safety, and security procedures.
- Share concerns or incidents promptly and accurately with the appropriate hotel team members.
- Provide cross-department support and, when needed, work with sister properties through cross-training or temporary assignments.
- Carry out other duties assigned by management.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail, strong organization and time management skills, and the confidence to work independently. You should also be able to handle physical tasks that involve lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items up to 30 pounds without assistance, and be capable of extended standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, stooping, reaching above the head, and reaching below the knees.
