Job Overview

The AFC Inspector will oversee and validate the performance, condition, and maintenance of Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems across the network. This role ensures adherence to contractual obligations, operational standards, and revenue protection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of AFC system components, including validators, gates, ticket vending machines, and backend interfaces, to assess operational performance and availability.
• Monitor the maintenance activities performed by contractors, ensuring compliance with both preventive and corrective maintenance standards.
• Verify the accuracy of fare collection systems, identifying any faults that could compromise revenue integrity or negatively impact the passenger experience.
• Document all identified defects and non-conformances, ensuring that the contractor implements timely corrective actions.
• Collaborate with AFC, telecom, and IT teams to effectively resolve system and integration-related issues.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in AFC systems, ticketing technologies, or transport Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) environments. A strong understanding of smart ticketing, fare systems, and associated communication networks is essential. Previous experience in inspection, audit, or maintenance monitoring roles is required. Familiarity with asset management and reporting systems, such as Maximo, is preferred.
