Role summary

The Investment Associate will support CBWS’s investment and strategic finance efforts across entertainment and technology initiatives. This contract position is fully remote and focuses on financial analysis, deal support, and decision-making materials for leadership and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Create, update, and manage financial models used for investment analysis and planning.
• Assess the performance of projects and the broader portfolio using financial and operating metrics.
• Draft investment memos and presentation materials for internal leadership and partner discussions.
• Perform due diligence on prospective investments, including a review of financial statements and supporting documents.
• Evaluate market conditions and industry developments connected to media, entertainment IP, and technology ventures.
• Work with teams across the business to examine transaction structures, support negotiations, and monitor return, risk, and growth indicators.
• Help refine internal tools and workflows that improve the company’s investment process and enable better data-led decisions.

Qualifications and requirements

• Hands-on experience in finance and investments, whether with projects, companies, or funds.
• Strong analytical ability for market research, valuation work, and performance tracking.
• Advanced financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis and cash flow forecasting.
• Experience carrying out due diligence by reviewing financial records, contracts, and operating information to understand risk and opportunity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a closely related subject; a master’s degree or credential such as CFA is an advantage.
• Comfort using spreadsheets, finance tools, and data visualization platforms, with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial topics to non-finance stakeholders.
• Self-sufficient work style suited to a remote environment, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and coordinate across time zones.
• Exposure to or interest in entertainment, media, or technology is a strong plus.
