Role overview
The organization is looking for a dependable IT Support Technician at entry to mid level to keep everyday technology operations running smoothly. The person in this role will handle user support, resolve hardware and software issues, and help maintain computer systems, devices, and network infrastructure.
What you will do
- Handle initial and follow-up technical support for problems involving hardware, software, and networks.
- Install, set up, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
- Work on support tickets, service requests, and user questions within expected timeframes.
- Identify and fix issues with operating systems, applications, and network connectivity.
- Create and manage user accounts, email accounts, and permission access.
- Assist with application installs, updates, patches, and routine system upkeep.
- Support networking devices such as routers, switches, and Wi‑Fi equipment, including basic troubleshooting.
- Keep IT asset records, documentation, and support logs up to date.
- Help apply cybersecurity practices and follow internal IT policies.
- Guide users on how to use IT systems properly and share best practices.
- Refer difficult issues to senior IT staff when needed.
- Contribute to IT projects, upgrades, and infrastructure enhancement work.
Requirements
- Prior experience in IT support, helpdesk, or technical support is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Basic understanding of hardware, networking, and system administration concepts.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and ticketing platforms is helpful.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear communication and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to organize priorities and handle several support requests at once.
- Careful attention to detail and strong documentation habits.
- Open to learning new tools and adapting to changing technology environments.
- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant certifications are considered an added advantage.
