Role Summary
This is an on-site Junior Graphic Designer position in Henderson, Auckland, with flexibility for full-time or part-time work and the potential to become permanent. In this role, you will assist with the design and production of badges and related products by developing layouts, artwork, and graphics that match client briefs and brand standards.
Daily work includes preparing files for print, improving existing artwork, working with senior designers and production staff, and keeping outputs consistent across different product types. You will also coordinate with sales and customer service teams to interpret requests, revise designs based on feedback, and uphold a strong visual standard. The role calls for someone who can juggle several tasks, work to production timelines, and bring fresh ideas that strengthen the company’s product range.
Responsibilities
- Create layouts, artwork, and graphics for badges and associated products based on client specifications.
- Prepare accurate, print-ready design files for production.
- Update and refine existing artwork as needed.
- Work alongside senior designers and production team members to ensure smooth delivery.
- Maintain consistency in design quality across multiple product formats.
- Discuss design requirements with sales and customer service staff and convert them into workable visuals.
- Revise artwork in response to feedback from clients or internal teams.
- Handle multiple assignments while meeting production deadlines.
- Contribute creative ideas to improve and expand the product offering.
Requirements
- Solid grounding in graphic design, with the ability to produce clean and effective visuals for both print and digital use.
- Hands-on exposure to logo design and branding for personalised products.
- Good understanding of typography, including font choice, hierarchy, and readability in small-format items such as badges and tags.
- Ability to use common design tools such as Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Coral, or similar software, along with basic print-file preparation knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow brand and production instructions carefully.
- Organised time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach when working with different teams and feedback.
- Relevant study or training in graphic design or a related discipline; internship experience or a portfolio of design work would be an advantage.
