This permanent Linen Porter position is based at Malmaison Dundee and sits within the housekeeping function. The role focuses on moving linen around the hotel efficiently so room attendants can complete their work smoothly and on time.

Hours, schedule, and pay

The role offers 16 hours per week and pays £13.01 per hour. Shifts are generally fixed and usually run between 9:00am and 3:00pm, five days out of seven. Start times are typically flexible between 9:00am and 10:00am, and earlier starts can be discussed at interview. Flexible contracts and weekend-only working may also be considered.

What the job involves

As part of the housekeeping team, you will help ensure linen is transported promptly and correctly throughout the hotel. The position includes some guest contact, so clear conversational English is important. You should also be comfortable working independently for periods of time, while still being a dependable part of the wider hotel operation.

Physical demands and training

This is a physically active role and requires a reasonable level of fitness. Full training will be provided on the safe use of chemicals and equipment.

Experience and progression

Previous experience in a similar role is not essential. What matters most is a positive attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to the hotel. Malmaison also supports internal progression, and successful candidates may be able to join the apprenticeship scheme after completing probation.
