Material Handler Specialist

About the Role

This position is part of a global transport and logistics organization in Singapore. The role focuses on managing air freight flow, coordinating with customers, vendors, and internal teams, and ensuring shipment activities are completed accurately, on time, and in line with local regulations and internal procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the timely and correct transfer of air freight to and from designated points while meeting customer service standards and Singapore requirements.
• Manage communication with customers, vendors, and internal DSV teams regarding shipments and related issues.
• Handle service deviations proactively by following up on exceptions and working through resolution with customers.
• Prepare invoices and check shipment-related cost accruals within the required KPI timeline.
• Take part in special projects aimed at improving business processes, both internally and externally.
• Carry out additional value-added duties within the role to support customer needs and operational changes.
• Ensure customs permit declarations comply with Singapore Customs rules and procedures.
• Prepare and maintain air export documentation.
• Make sure shipments are processed within the required timeline and in line with internal ISO procedures.
• Ensure customer emails and external documents are handled promptly.
• Contribute to a positive, engaging work environment.
• Work in ways that strengthen customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Strong ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
• Clear and professional communication skills.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Ability to stay effective when working under pressure.
• Basic computer literacy, especially on Windows PCs.
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
• Solid judgment, problem-solving ability, and decision-making skills.
• Good time management and prioritization skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Comfortable working as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word and Excel.
