Role Overview
IMAR TRADING AND CONTRACTING CO. is looking for an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor with a strong fit-out background to join its Doha team. The role focuses on commercial control, measurement, tendering, and contract-related support for MEP works within fit-out and building projects.
Job Details
Location: Doha, Qatar
Experience: 8 to 10 years, with preference for candidates who have worked on fit-out or building projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out and check MEP quantity take-offs, BOQs, pricing estimates, and tender documentation for fit-out assignments.
- Track project expenditure and support ongoing cost control across the full project duration.
- Assess subcontractor pricing submissions, change requests, claims, and payment requests.
- Prepare progress valuations, closing accounts, and cost tracking reports.
- Work closely with project teams, consultants, and subcontractors on commercial aspects connected to MEP works.
- Examine shop drawings and technical specifications to confirm quantities and scope coverage.
- Make sure all work aligns with project needs, contract clauses, and relevant standards.
- Look for opportunities to reduce cost and introduce value engineering ideas while maintaining quality.
- Assist procurement functions for MEP materials and subcontracted work packages.
- Keep accurate records of measurements, variations, and contractual communications.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a similar discipline.
- At least 8 to 10 years of experience working as an MEP Quantity Surveyor, ideally in fit-out environments.
- Solid understanding of MEP systems, cost estimating, and contract administration.
- Hands-on experience in commercial management, quantity take-offs, and project cost monitoring.
- Knowledge of Qatar construction practices and fit-out project expectations is an added advantage.
- Strong ability in communication, negotiation, and analytical thinking.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and quantity surveying or estimation tools is beneficial.
Preferred Profile
Candidates with experience in hospital, commercial, or premium fit-out projects in Qatar will be preferred. Immediate availability is also an advantage.
