About the studio
Carve and Stitch is a Sydney-based post-production and animation studio focused on motion in all its forms. The team works across editing, colour grading, 2D and 3D animation, visual effects and sound, creating work that ranges from social content to national TVC campaigns for major global brands including Uber Eats, Samsung, AO, Google and Maccas.
The studio values creativity, collaboration, optimism, innovation and a forward-looking mindset. It is driven by curiosity, a refusal to settle for average, and a commitment to learning while crafting work for brands, film and documentary projects.
Role overview
This is a full-time Motion Designer position based in Chippendale, Sydney. The role suits a senior-level candidate, although strong mid-level applicants with solid fundamentals are also welcome. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of relevant experience in a studio or agency setting.
What you will do
You will produce compelling 2D and 3D animation work, partner with a multidisciplinary team, and help deliver high-quality output across a broad mix of projects. The role reports to the studio director and producers for project execution.
What we are looking for
The right person will be a creative problem-solver with strong visual judgement, advanced motion design ability, and a genuine passion for making polished, beautiful work. You should be able to take projects from the initial concept stage through to final delivery.
Technical and creative capabilities
Strong expertise in After Effects is essential, along with solid working knowledge of Premiere, Photoshop and Illustrator. You should have a sharp design eye, be able to work in different visual styles, understand current trends, and bring a strong sense of storytelling to your work. You will also need to be comfortable with modern AI tools and developments, and understand technical delivery requirements for social, digital and broadcast formats.
Nice-to-have experience
Additional advantages include experience with 3D software such as Cinema 4D, Blender or Houdini, familiarity with other animation tools such as Cavalry, and exposure to post-production tasks like editing, colour grading, sound design and audio mixing.
