Gold Fields is seeking a part-time Nipper for its Granny Smith gold mine in Laverton, Western Australia. This is a FIFO role from Perth, operating on an 8/6 day roster and a 7/7 night roster rotation. The position offers a practical entry point into underground mining and can lead toward underground operator opportunities.

What the job involves

• Working underground to assist development and production teams with day-to-day site support.
• Delivering equipment, removing waste, handling ground support tasks, and helping keep operations moving.
• Supporting operators with bolting, meshing, heading preparation, and service crew duties when needed.
• Carrying out pre-start checks, spotting and reporting hazards, and keeping work areas tidy and well organised.
• Maintaining fitness for work on rostered shifts and helping reinforce a strong safety culture.

Skills and experience needed

• Prior underground mining experience in a Nipper or Truck Driver capacity.
• A strong commitment to safe work practices and site compliance.
• Good teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
• The physical fitness required to work in demanding underground conditions.
• A current manual driver’s licence.
• A current Dangerous Goods Security Card and Working at Heights certification.
• Ability to provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance.
