Role Overview

Twyford International Uganda is hiring an HR Operations Specialist to oversee essential day-to-day human resources administration at its Kapeeka Industrial Park site in Nakaseke District, Uganda. Reporting to the Human Resource Manager, this position focuses on maintaining reliable HR processes, keeping employee data accurate, and supporting compliance with internal policies and employment laws.

Core Duties

  • Track employee attendance across the organization and keep the records up to date.
  • Check, consolidate, and prepare attendance summaries for payroll and management use.
  • Make sure attendance information is submitted accurately and on time.
  • Provide training and support to supervisors and staff on attendance rules and procedures.
  • Maintain leave balances and update employee leave records regularly.
  • Prepare monthly leave schedules and rosters.
  • Review leave requests, confirm they align with company policy, and process them accordingly.
  • Monitor how leave is used and produce periodic reports.
  • Coordinate onboarding for new hires so they settle into the organization smoothly.
  • Draft employment contracts and prepare onboarding paperwork.
  • Organize employee orientation and induction sessions.
  • Ensure all new employee documents are complete and properly filed.
  • Keep employee records accurate, confidential, and well organized.
  • Update statutory employee details and related documents.
  • Support adherence to company rules, labor requirements, and internal processes.
  • Assist with HR audits and document checks.
  • Help prepare HR reports and analyze employee data when needed.
  • Support HR projects and departmental initiatives with administrative tasks.
  • Respond to staff questions about attendance, leave, contracts, and general HR procedures.
  • Carry out other duties assigned by the Human Resource Manager or HR Business Partner.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 1–3 years of experience in HR administration or HR operations.
  • Prior exposure to attendance tracking, leave administration, and employee records management is preferred.
  • Background in a manufacturing setting will be considered an advantage.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Discretion when handling sensitive and confidential information.
