Role overview
Madill's Drugs is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Assistant for its Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan location. The position supports patient-centered pharmacy service and day-to-day store operations within a community pharmacy setting.
What you will do
- Work alongside pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to help deliver quality care to patients
- Welcome customers and handle incoming calls in a courteous, professional way
- Prepare prescriptions by entering data, printing labels, and packaging medications under pharmacist or technician supervision
- Measure, count, and pack medications carefully according to pharmacy procedures
- Accept deliveries, put away stock, watch inventory levels, rotate products, and assist with inventory checks
- Maintain a tidy, orderly pharmacy area and dispose of expired medicines and hazardous materials safely and in compliance with regulations
- Complete administrative duties such as filing, faxing, scanning, supporting insurance claim processing, and handling prescription transfers
- Help with routine pharmacy activities and take on other assigned tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Formal training as a pharmacy assistant is considered an advantage
- Experience working in a pharmacy is also an asset
- Strong spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate well in a team
- Good organizational ability and a careful eye for detail
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Kroll pharmacy software
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting boxes or containers occasionally
- Open to flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when required
Schedule
This is a full-time role with 32 to 40 hours per week. The store is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so shifts will usually be scheduled within those hours.
