Role Overview

This opportunity is for experienced venture professionals who want to work on finding promising companies and partnering with founders. In the Principal role, you would contribute to sourcing, assessing, and completing investments for one of the firm’s investment teams while also supporting the wider platform.

This is an expression of interest rather than a live opening for a single role. Applications are reviewed continuously so the team can connect strong candidates with future Principal-level needs across New York City, Boston, Manchester (NH), Chicago, and Menlo Park.

The role is broad and generalist in nature, covering multiple sectors and stages. The position centers primarily on Seed and Series A investing, with some involvement in Pre-Seed and Growth-stage opportunities as well. The work includes helping build a portfolio of about 25 investments each year, identifying follow-on opportunities, supporting fund outcomes, and strengthening the firm’s presence in the venture ecosystem.

You will work closely with the Managing Partner, Senior Associates, and the wider team to find high-potential businesses, lead diligence and negotiations, and build strong relationships with founders, co-investors, and industry partners. A strong personal network is important, as trusted relationships are key to accessing high-quality opportunities. Success in this position depends on strong judgment, curiosity, creativity, warmth, and careful decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and originate investment opportunities that fit the team’s investment direction and broader firm priorities.
• Improve the rate at which sourced opportunities move into qualified investments.
• Conduct early-stage due diligence by speaking with founders, customers, and analyzing available market information.
• Study market shifts, competition, and emerging trends to support stronger investment decisions.
• Help execute approved investments from term sheet through closing.
• Keep investment activity aligned with the firm’s strategy to support a balanced, high-performing portfolio.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of founders, investors, and industry specialists to support deal flow.
• Expand the firm’s visibility and influence within the venture community.
• Support fundraising work, investor relations, and community engagement through events, webinars, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Assist portfolio companies by supporting their growth and long-term value creation.
• Track portfolio performance through regular CEO check-ins, performance monitoring, and strategic guidance.

Candidate Profile

The firm is looking for people with at least 7 years of professional experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or fast-growing startups.

A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline is required, while an MBA or another advanced degree is preferred.

Candidates should also be comfortable using modern AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar platforms to improve research, analysis, communication, and daily productivity.

Compensation

The starting base salary is $175,000, along with equity, carry potential, and a corporate bonus.
