About the Role
Google Operations Center is looking for a senior leader to oversee a team of Project Managers and drive the full lifecycle delivery of global email marketing operations. The role calls for someone who can balance people leadership, operational discipline, and strategic direction while ensuring campaigns are delivered quickly, accurately, and in line with business goals.
In this position, you will act as a people manager and the main contact for senior stakeholders. You will be expected to build a strong team culture, improve performance across the group, and make sure workflows are scalable and service level commitments are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Project Managers, including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance reviews, and career growth support.
- Own the quality, timing, and delivery of global email and HPP campaigns, ensuring work is completed to a high QA standard.
- Shape long-term operating plans that improve productivity, turnaround time, and campaign outcomes.
- Manage staffing, workload distribution, capacity planning, and resource allocation during busy periods or changing priorities.
- Serve as the primary partner for internal and external stakeholders, including escalations, expectation management, and performance reporting.
- Improve production workflows by standardizing SOPs and identifying automation and technical integration opportunities.
- Guide the team through organizational change, new tools, and shifting business needs while maintaining stability and morale.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience in Project Management, Marketing Operations, or Campaign Management.
- Minimum 5 years of direct people management experience, with responsibility for performance reviews, team development, and leading 5 to 10 direct reports.
- Strong expertise in the email marketing lifecycle, including marketing automation tools, HTML/CSS for email, and responsive design.
- Demonstrated success managing complex, high-volume operations in a global environment.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Analytical thinking with the ability to use data for operational decisions and KPI/SLA reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in a large-scale operations center or agency setting.
- Strong understanding of CRM systems, database management, and cross-channel marketing such as Push, SMS, and In-App.
- Experience managing remote or geographically distributed teams.
- Project Management certification such as PMP or Prince2, or experience with Agile methodologies.
