The company creates complete nutrition formulas and medical foods for people who require liquid nutrition for medical reasons. Kate Farms also emphasizes a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where people from all backgrounds are welcomed and encouraged to do their best work.
Role Overview
Kate Farms is looking for an experienced Project Manager to provide embedded part-time support for the Blended Program through the end of 2026. Reporting to the Associate Director, Project Management, this position will help drive execution across strategic work involving product development, manufacturing, and commercialization for the blended nutrition portfolio.
This role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional work, keeping timelines and dependencies moving, aligning stakeholders, and helping the team hit important milestones in a fast-moving and sometimes uncertain environment. The right candidate brings strong organizational discipline, a proactive mindset, and solid experience in consumer-packaged goods or similarly complex programs. They should be comfortable turning technical information into practical plans that support launch readiness and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Manager will act as an embedded driver of execution across connected initiatives within the Blended Program and keep work aligned to business priorities.
Core duties include leading team members toward milestone completion, spotting blockers early, and helping remove obstacles so progress continues smoothly.
The role also involves building and maintaining integrated project schedules, timelines, and governance routines across multiple workstreams, while managing risks, dependencies, decisions, and follow-up actions.
Close partnership is required with teams in Product Development, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Commercial, and Operations to keep everyone aligned and informed.
Additional work includes coordinating product renovation, reformulation, packaging innovation, manufacturing integration, portfolio optimization, and brand integration activities.
The position supports portfolio strategy and commercialization readiness by contributing to launch planning, customer transition efforts, and go-to-market execution.
Regular responsibilities also include facilitating project meetings, sharing status updates, tracking health and progress, improving coordination across workstreams, and preparing executive-level reporting and recommendations for leadership.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, program management, or a similar role leading complex cross-functional work is required.
PMP certification, or an equivalent project management credential, is required.
Applicants must be comfortable balancing multiple priorities and stakeholders in an environment that is fast-paced, changing, and at times ambiguous.
Strong organization, execution, and detail orientation are essential, along with excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
The role also calls for the ability to influence others and build alignment without direct authority, strong analytical and problem-solving ability, and the skill to convert technical concepts into clear action plans and business insights.
Success in this role requires the ability to work independently while maintaining effective partnerships across teams, along with a genuine commitment to Kate Farms’ mission, values, and collaborative culture.
Preferred Background
Helpful experience includes work in consumer-packaged goods, food, nutrition, healthcare, wellness, or related fields.
Experience supporting product development, commercialization, product lifecycle management, or go-to-market programs is preferred.
Exposure to regulated or quality-sensitive environments is also valued, along with experience in packaging innovation, product transformation, portfolio management, or brand integration.
Familiarity with project management systems such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Monday.com, Asana, Jira, or similar tools is an advantage.
Work Arrangement and Environment
This is an onsite position based in Goleta, California, with embedded part-time support of 30 to 35 hours per week.
The assignment is expected to continue through the end of 2026.
The work setting is a home/office environment.
Physical Requirements
The role may require lifting objects weighing up to 12 pounds.
Employees in this position may need to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb stairs while performing essential duties.
Extended periods of sitting at a computer are also part of the job.
Compensation and Terms
Compensation is structured as base pay plus a variable component, together forming on-target earnings (OTE).
The typical starting range for this role is $85.00 to $105.00 per hour USD. Actual pay may vary based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and the range may change in the future.
Employment is at-will, and the company may adjust base salary or other discretionary compensation programs at any time based on performance, team or company performance, and market conditions.
All offers are contingent on successful background verification.
For full-time salaried or hourly employees, total rewards may include access to a company-matched 401(k), medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance for the employee and eligible dependents.
Additional benefits may include paid disability leave, paid parental or pregnancy leave, flexible spending accounts, tuition reimbursement, an employee assistance program, and more.
This job description is not exhaustive, and additional related duties may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
