Role overview
MSL Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Dresden, Germany project site. This position is focused on making sure project execution consistently meets client and company quality expectations, with strong attention to inspections, compliance, records, handover readiness, and coordination with site teams and subcontractors.

Compensation is offered on a DOE basis.
What the role involves
- Keep all site quality activities aligned with the company quality management system and the client’s technical requirements.
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Turnover Lead, Document Controller, Supervisors, and Engineers to make sure document control, quality control, material control, and engineering tasks support project quality objectives.
- Confirm that approved inspection and test plans, project quality plans, and site procedures are followed by both the team and subcontractors, and that inspections are properly signed off.
- Make sure required training, including GDP, is available and that competency is tracked appropriately for each role.
- Manage client-driven NDT, testing, and PED requirements for each system.
- Track and coordinate NDT/NDE activities.
- Maintain weld history records for inclusion in piping test packs, including updated weld logs.
- Check subcontractor quality deliverables against client expectations and monitor how their quality control is performed.
- Oversee welding, testing, and the scope of testing in line with quality documentation.
- Keep accurate records, review test results, and respond correctly when deviations are identified.
- Verify the validity of WPQRs, WPSs, WQT matrices, calibration records, and material certifications such as MTRs.
- Maintain operational matrices covering training, lessons learned, calibrations, welding, and related quality items.
- Carry out line walks against P&IDs.
- Create punch lists and follow through until items are closed out.
- Complete piping test packs and system handover documentation.
- Coordinate with client QA/QC representatives.
- Gather data for KPI reporting, including welds, repairs, NDT figures, test pack status, walkdowns, punches, NCRs, benchmarks, and related quality measures.
- Ensure quality benchmarks and sample checks are in place before new activities begin and that supervisors understand the required standards.
- Maintain an audit plan and follow through on its implementation.
- Lead internal audits, support client audits, and drive closure of audit actions.
- Handle other tasks assigned by the Project Manager.
Key technical expectations
- Visual welding inspection experience is required.
- CSWIP 3.0 certification is the minimum expected qualification.
- Strong knowledge of piping isometrics and P&IDs is essential.
- Experience using EIDA would be an added advantage.
