About the role
Marina Bay Sands is looking for a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to support design and construction contract activities and contribute to the smooth delivery of projects. This position works closely with the Commercial Manager and wider team to maintain contract records, manage reporting workflows, and help coordinate procurement and commercial documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out all tasks in line with the department’s and company’s operating policies and procedures.
- Assist the team in preparing and delivering comprehensive design and construction contracts.
- Oversee the setup and upkeep of both electronic and physical filing systems, including the receipt, circulation, and storage of contracts and related documents.
- Enter and refresh information in internal contract management systems, while also overseeing data entry completed by junior team members.
- Help track, expedite, collect, and consolidate periodic reports and other routine submissions.
- Review project registers covering payments, variations, and contractual correspondence.
- Support the collection, tracking, and consolidation of contractor daily, weekly, and monthly reports, along with other recurring submissions.
- Assist the Commercial Manager during the bidding stage by issuing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and preparing the BAW.
- Take part in pre-award, progress, and other project-related meetings, and prepare the meeting notes.
- Support the Commercial Manager in receiving and reviewing supply chain partner payment certificates.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree is preferred in Business, Law, Design, Engineering, Project Management, Cost Engineering, or a closely related discipline; relevant equivalent experience may also be considered.
- At least 5 years of total work experience, including a minimum of 4 years in a related field.
- Strong computer literacy, including word processing, email, spreadsheets, and electronic presentation tools.
- Good understanding of construction procurement processes and commercial practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-focused, self-driven, and able to provide strong administrative support.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and manage time effectively to meet project objectives.
- Proficiency in MS Office is required.
- Prior exposure to Ariba and Sage-based systems would be an advantage.
