Registered Nurse

Role overview

Oceania is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to work at The Sands in Auckland. This position offers the chance to practise across the full scope of nursing within a nurse-led environment. In this role, you will use your clinical knowledge and sound judgement to deliver holistic support and care to residents, help organise everyday care requirements, and foster meaningful relationships with residents, their whānau, and community health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee residents’ day-to-day care requirements while supporting and encouraging other team members.
• Carry out full nursing assessments and deliver interventions independently as well as alongside others.
• Use professional judgement to make important resident-care decisions with confidence and autonomy.
• Develop trusted connections with residents, their families, and allied health practitioners in the community.
• Provide direction, support, and guidance to care staff and colleagues.

Requirements

• A valid New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate is required.
• Strong commitment to high-quality service and resident care.
• Prior experience working with clinical systems.
• InterRai experience is preferred, although it is not mandatory.
• Clear and effective written and spoken communication skills.
• Good time-management skills and the ability to prioritise work.
• Ability to coach, support, and mentor other staff members.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and night duty.

Schedule and pay

The role offers an hourly rate between $37.38 and $53.22, depending on experience. The roster runs on a fortnightly cycle and includes weekend work and night shifts.
