Overview
BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus is inviting applications for a single Research Fellow opening under the Institute Research Fellowship Scheme. The selected candidate will join a full-time Ph.D. track and contribute to an interdisciplinary research project focused on mathematical modelling.
Project Title
Analysis of Coagulation–Fragmentation Models: Theoretical and Numerical Aspects.
Project Aim
The research work will examine coagulation–fragmentation systems from both theoretical and computational perspectives. The role involves studying existence, uniqueness, and qualitative properties of solutions, along with designing efficient numerical methods.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should hold an M.Sc. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related subject with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA. Candidates must also meet the Ph.D. admission requirements of BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. The opportunity is intended for highly motivated recent graduates, generally within three years of graduation, seeking to strengthen research in emerging areas through a full-time Ph.D. programme.
Preferred Background
Priority will be given to candidates with a strong foundation in core mathematical subjects. Additional advantage will be given to applicants who have knowledge of differential equations, functional analysis, and numerical analysis, as well as hands-on experience with MATLAB and/or Python. Candidates who have qualified GATE, CSIR-UGC NET, or another comparable national-level examination are also preferred.
Fellowship and Benefits
The fellowship value is AED 4,000 per month. In addition, the position includes a student visa, medical insurance, subsidized hostel accommodation, airfare as per institute policy, and an annual contingency grant for research-related expenses.
