Role overview
CELESTAL is hiring a Rotating Equipment Engineer in Doha, Qatar to support the engineering, specification, and delivery of turbine packages for major industrial energy projects. The position involves acting as the discipline engineer for turbine equipment and making sure all technical requirements are met while staying aligned with quality, schedule, and budget goals.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the discipline engineer responsible for turbine equipment on EPC projects.
- Study technical inputs and develop suitable engineering solutions for turbine packages.
- Prepare, check, and update technical documents such as datasheets, specifications, and requisitions.
- Assess vendor proposals technically and continue follow-up on vendor engineering work after award.
- Work closely with process, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and layout teams to resolve interfaces.
- Ensure project outputs meet expectations for quality, cost control, and planning.
- Take part in technical reviews, inspections, testing, and start-up support when needed.
- Coordinate between vendors, procurement, construction, and project management teams.
- Maintain compliance with project QA/QC and HSE requirements.
Candidate profile
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Oil & Gas or industrial EPC projects involving turbine equipment.
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment engineering and relevant international standards.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, process documentation, and mechanical interfaces.
- Experience in coordinating with vendors and evaluating technical bids.
- Solid understanding of project stages including FEED, execution, construction, and start-up.
- Strong communication and organizational abilities.
