Sales Assistant

Role Overview

COBS Bread is seeking a friendly, eager Sales Assistant to join its bakery team in Calgary. This position is focused on creating a welcoming in-store experience, supporting daily bakery operations, and helping customers enjoy fresh baked goods. The company values people who are curious, enthusiastic, team-oriented, and ready to learn, and no prior experience is required.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute as part of a close-knit team to deliver a memorable customer experience and build relationships with regular guests.
• Handle product display and merchandising, and help carry out in-bakery marketing initiatives and promotions.
• Keep the bakery area clean and organized, and support production tasks when needed, including learning basic baking work.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a warm personality, a strong service mindset, and a willingness to develop new abilities. Being dependable, self-driven, and comfortable working with others is important. Previous retail experience, along with experience processing cash, debit, and credit payments, is helpful but not required.

Physical Demands

• Tasks involve standing and walking continuously throughout the shift.
• Both hands are used constantly during work.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 7.5 kg is expected, along with reaching below shoulder level, bending, and turning.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 22 kg may be required, plus pushing, pulling, crouching, bending, and reaching above shoulder height.
