About The Role

Thiess is seeking a passionate and energetic Sampler to join their team in Perth, Western Australia. This role is based in the Shire of Yilgarn, operating on a 14 days on, 7 days off DIDO (Drive In, Drive Out) roster. The Yilgarn Iron Ore Project encompasses the Koolyanobbing, Windarling, and Parker Range sites. You will be responsible for collecting and preparing ore samples, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict protocols to support informed decision-making by geological, metallurgical, and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from various sources including ore bodies, stockpiles, drill cuttings, conveyor belts, and processing circuits.
• Ensure collected samples accurately represent the larger material volume.
• Prepare and reduce samples to the appropriate size for laboratory analysis.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and strictly follow all sampling protocols.
• Support geologists, metallurgists, and production teams by providing representative samples for their decision-making processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A current Dangerous Goods Security Card.
• Previous experience in a similar sampling role within an open-pit mining production environment.
• A high level of motivation and the ability to work autonomously.
• A proactive and safety-conscious attitude, embodying a "Can Do" approach to safety.
• A current Western Australian driver's licence.
