About Chainlink
Chainlink is a leading oracle network that connects capital markets to blockchain ecosystems and supports a large share of decentralized finance. Its platform delivers the data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy layers required for advanced blockchain use cases such as institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. As the originator of decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has supported enormous transaction value and now protects the majority of DeFi activity.
Major financial institutions and widely used protocols have adopted Chainlink’s standards and infrastructure, including Swift, Euroclear, Mastercard, Fidelity International, UBS, S&P Dow Jones Indices, FTSE Russell, WisdomTree, ANZ, Aave, Lido, GMX, and others. The company also uses a fee model in which offchain and onchain revenue from enterprise adoption is converted into LINK tokens and held in a strategic reserve.
The Security Team
The security organization is responsible for protecting Chainlink Labs’ people, systems, and infrastructure from threats originating both outside and inside the company. It supports this mission through specialized security engineering, modern security technology, proactive policy creation, and company-wide security awareness.
As a core part of the business, the team works to build a strong security culture while staying approachable and responsive to employees and the wider community.
About the Role
Chainlink Labs is seeking a motivated Product Security Engineer to help strengthen the security of its rapidly growing product and infrastructure ecosystem. In this role, you will guide other teams toward secure, scalable designs, contribute to implementation work, and help create new systems that protect Chainlink and the broader Web3 landscape.
You will have the chance to influence the security of next-generation Web3 products and infrastructure from the ground up.
What You Will Do
- Create security tooling and controls that can be rolled out across the organization.
- Architect, build, and launch new security capabilities for public Chainlink products, including the core node.
- Develop processes and systems that make attacks harder to carry out and simpler to identify.
- Work closely with upcoming engineering and non-engineering initiatives to ensure security is built into design and execution.
- Contribute to the definition and delivery of the company’s wider security strategy and goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Practical experience with Go or Rust.
- Background in a security-focused role.
- Experience developing security software or protecting enterprise systems.
- Comfort using Unix-based operating systems, including macOS.
- Ability to adjust quickly in a fast-moving environment with changing tools and technologies.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience writing or reviewing Solidity code.
- Experience assessing or securing frontend applications built with React and NPM-based tooling.
- Solid understanding of cryptography, including TLS, FIDO, encryption, and public key cryptography.
- Exposure to security analysis tools and security frameworks.
- Interest in Ethereum and other EVM-compatible networks, along with experience in tooling development, hardware wallets, or deployments.
- Open-source contribution history with evidence available on GitHub.
Working Arrangements
This is a remote role within a globally distributed team. Candidates are generally expected to overlap some of their working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST), unless the job specifies otherwise.
Application Review
Applications are reviewed carefully, and the team aims to respond to every candidate within two weeks after the posting closes. The closing date appears on the job advertisement, and applicants are encouraged to submit thoughtful applications. Status updates are typically shared shortly after the closing date.
Equal Opportunity
Chainlink Labs is committed to equal employment opportunity. All qualified applicants are considered fairly in line with applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances. Applicants who need disability-related assistance or special accommodations during the application or hiring process may contact the company through the provided form.
