The company is currently recruiting Security Guards for the Medicine Hat area.

Role Overview

This position involves helping protect client property, assets, staff, and visitors while maintaining a safe and orderly environment at assigned sites in the Medicine Hat area.

Eligibility and Hiring Notes

Applicants must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and have access to a personal vehicle. A drug and alcohol test must be successfully completed. Candidates without a security guard licence may still be considered, as support is provided to help with certification. Responsibilities

• Observe site activity, document incidents, and report anything that affects the safety of people or property.
• Carry out regular patrols to look for unusual conditions and verify that protective devices and fire safety equipment are in place and working.
• Help maintain order and, when needed, apply site rules for employees, visitors, and the premises.
• Manage entry to the client site or facility by following the admission process.
• Inspect assigned locations on foot or by vehicle for hazards, open doors, security breaches, blocked access points, equipment issues, and unauthorized individuals.
• Support the client by delivering strong customer service while reducing risk to property and assets.
• Monitor alarm and video systems using automated security software.
• Use computer systems for site monitoring and basic training tasks.
• Safeguard evidence or the scene of an incident during accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.

Qualifications

• Practical understanding of security procedures and day-to-day operations.
• Dependable transportation is required.
• Strong organizational ability.
• Ability to prepare routine logs, notes, and reports.
• Basic computer literacy, including use of Microsoft Office.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, and perform patrol duties.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
• Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are mandatory.
• First Aid and CPR certification is an advantage.
