Role overview
Versace is looking for a Senior Coordinator to support marketing, events, and client development initiatives in New York. The position plays a key role in coordinating annual promotional planning, managing event execution, and helping drive sales across retail and wholesale channels.
Core responsibilities
- Support the annual marketing plan by helping coordinate activities designed to increase sales across channels.
- Maintain and update calendars covering retail, wholesale, store openings, email content, and promotions.
- Oversee the movement of collateral materials so that all items are delivered on schedule.
- Work closely with accounting to monitor invoices, confirm budget alignment, and help ensure timely payment.
- Coordinate retail and wholesale advertising plans, including budgets, material needs, and added-value opportunities.
- Help build and manage the events program supporting retail and wholesale initiatives.
- Own the event calendar for retail and wholesale activities.
- Track events budgets and make sure spending stays within approved limits.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, stakeholders, and Milan headquarters.
Advertising, promotions, and LRA
- Review and refresh the media plan on a monthly basis.
- Manage LRA and advertising budgets while adapting plans as business priorities shift.
- Partner with production teams and Milan HQ to ensure local publication materials are delivered on time.
- Coordinate with the Milan office to request artwork and track it through to the magazine printer.
- Support local advertising efforts to secure additional value and marketing exposure.
- Monitor the performance and efficiency of advertising activities.
- Work with Milan HQ to build a strong monthly retail promotion calendar aligned to the global omni-channel calendar.
- Collaborate with malls to leverage their paid and organic marketing channels.
- Identify third-party partnerships that can help promote Versace products.
Event and activation management
- Identify event partnership opportunities that support retail and wholesale business goals.
- Develop concepts and manage execution for grand opening events for new boutiques.
- Build and sustain relationships with event vendors such as caterers, florists, modeling agencies, hair and makeup teams, production teams, and audio/visual providers, including rate negotiation.
- Organize in-store selling events from planning through execution.
- Work with buyers and store managers to understand commercial priorities.
- Coordinate with agencies and service providers to ensure each event element fits brand standards.
- Arrange guest gifts when needed.
- Partner with charity and hostess contacts to define and manage their role during events.
- Work with design and print partners to ensure invitations are produced and distributed on time.
- Manage guest lists and RSVP tracking.
- Coordinate with Milan HQ on event concepts, invitation copy, and post-event recaps.
- Liaise with the press office to arrange samples for selling events.
- Work with the style office to propose looks and create the run of show for selling events.
- Create event success metrics and track results such as sales, new client acquisition, and client conversion.
- Develop follow-up actions with the CRM team to turn event attendees into loyal clients.
- Build detailed concepts and timelines for each event.
Experience and qualifications
This role requires a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 to 5+ years of experience in marketing and event coordination. Experience in retail is preferred. The ideal candidate should be able to create marketing plans, programs, and promotional briefs, and bring strong analytical, interpersonal, creative, and leadership abilities. Budget management and invoicing experience are important, along with a solid background in marketing automation, campaign management, demand generation, direct marketing, and database marketing. Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills are also essential.
