Role Overview

Omio is looking for a founding AI engineer in Singapore who can design and ship advanced AI systems while also helping the organization adopt them more broadly. The role combines hands-on development with cross-functional influence, requiring someone who can turn AI ideas into practical, scalable products that create measurable business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create AI-powered solutions using large language models to raise productivity and drive clear business outcomes.
  • Own the full lifecycle of AI products, from early concept and design through deployment and ongoing improvement.
  • Develop scalable AI architecture that supports Omio’s international growth plans.
  • Promote AI adoption by showing stakeholders the practical value of these tools and workflows.
  • Work closely with Business, Product, and Engineering teams to embed AI into everyday processes and improve usage across the company.
  • Explain models, findings, and system designs to both technical teams and non-technical decision-makers, including senior leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, including work on complex models and algorithms.
  • A strong history of building, implementing, and launching AI solutions in production at scale.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence people who are not technically oriented.
  • Comfort working independently and taking initiative with limited oversight.
  • Experience delivering scalable AI and LLM-based systems for real-time, high-performance environments is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to assess model quality using both quantitative and qualitative methods, and to iteratively improve system performance and user results.
  • Advanced knowledge of AI applications built with LLMs such as OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, and LLaMA.
  • Hands-on experience with orchestration tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, vLLM, and LMDeploy.
  • Strong coding ability in Java, Python, and SQL.
  • Working knowledge of data preparation, feature engineering, model assessment, MLOps, and LLMOps best practices.
  • Capability to design Retrieval-Augmented Generation workflows for more advanced AI use cases.
  • Experience with vector databases such as FAISS, Weaviate, Pinecone, and Milvus.
  • Solid understanding of prompt engineering for improving LLM outputs.
  • Practical exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
