About the Role
This position is for a seasoned and energetic Senior Manager, Category who will play a central role in an e-commerce business. The role focuses on expanding major accounts and guiding a team to unlock growth for a specific product category. The right candidate should bring deep category expertise, strong commercial negotiation ability, and clear ownership of profit and loss performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Take complete charge of category planning and execution for a designated key account, and build strategies that improve revenue, profitability, and market share.
- Build and sustain strong partnerships with key vendors/accounts, and manage negotiations around pricing, commercial terms, and marketing support.
- Create and drive Joint Business Plans that support shared growth objectives.
- Own the category P&L end to end, track financial performance, manage budgets, and improve profitability and operational effectiveness.
- Monitor inventory closely, maintain healthy stock availability, reduce stock-outs, and control aging stock.
- Work with supply chain teams to strengthen operational performance and efficiency.
- Lead a team of 5 to 6 members, coach them, set performance goals, give ongoing feedback, and help build a high-performing culture.
- Spot marketing opportunities that can accelerate category growth and collaborate with marketing and product teams to roll out campaigns and promotions.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should hold an MBA from a Tier 1 institute and have at least 3 years of relevant experience from a premier institute, including a minimum of 2 years in people management. Experience in the BPC industry is mandatory. A solid record of staying with employers for 2 to 3 years per company is preferred, as this role values consistency and stability. Strong capability in category management, vendor negotiation, pricing, P&L ownership, and inventory planning is essential.
