Senior Systems Analyst

Role overview

This position is for a Senior Systems Analyst supporting the Project Services Directorate in Doha, Qatar, within the Oil & Gas sector. The role focuses on strengthening business process support, improving how SAP and other enterprise platforms are used, assisting end users, and contributing to ongoing process and system enhancements.

The selected professional will serve as a link between business stakeholders and ICT teams, converting operational needs into practical system improvements and delivering solutions that align with strategic project goals.

Business and systems support

• Act as the main contact for system-related questions and issue handling for engineering and project teams.
• Deliver prompt first-line support so that systems remain effective and user needs are met within agreed timeframes.
• Coordinate with ICT teams to share business requirements and support enhancement activities.

Process improvement

• Review current workflows in detail to spot inefficiencies, delays, risks, and opportunities to improve performance.
• Design and propose practical solutions that raise process efficiency and improve system adoption.
• Lead automation and integration efforts across SAP modules such as SAP PS and ES, as well as connected platforms.

Solution development

• Develop business cases and functional specifications for improvement initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gain alignment and approvals.
• Convert technical and operational needs into clear, structured documentation.

Data analysis and reporting

• Carry out data analysis and integrity reviews to support performance assessment and decision-making.
• Create data models, algorithms, and dashboards that turn information into useful insights.
• Use reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau for analytics and presentations.

Testing and implementation

• Coordinate user acceptance testing and implementation work.
• Oversee data migration tasks across SAP and other enterprise systems.
• Help ensure solutions go live successfully and meet the agreed schedule and business needs.

Cross-functional coordination

• Work with internal teams across departments to solve complex business issues.
• Support smooth collaboration between technical teams and business users to deliver solutions effectively.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.
• At least 8 years of experience in business process analysis and data analytics in a project-based environment.
• Experience in Oil & Gas or EPC settings is strongly preferred.
• Strong capability in analyzing, modelling, and improving business processes.
• Practical experience with SAP modules, ideally SAP PS, and other enterprise systems.
• Solid knowledge of data analysis, data mining, and statistical methods.
• Experience using visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAS, or Python.
• Working knowledge of workflow automation tools such as SharePoint.
• Ability to build data models, algorithms, and simulations.
• Understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
• Strong ability to document processes and create diagrams such as process flows, ERDs, and workflows.
