Descrizione del lavoro
About the Role
Stage 3 Separation provides solids control solutions built for mud systems that help handle solids efficiently, lower customer costs, and support limited or zero-discharge operations when needed. The company also relies on a multi-disciplinary field team of technicians, supervisors, engineers, and scientists to deliver practical recommendations that improve job efficiency and reduce operating costs.
The organization’s focus continues to be centered on safety, teamwork, technology-led improvement, and strong operational standards.
What You’ll Do
Reporting to the Field Leader(s), the Solids Control Field Technician will support mechanical processes that improve drilling operations and enable recycled drilling fluid through closed-loop and similar mud systems. This role includes structured on-the-job training across Stage 3’s specialized equipment.
The position follows a 14-days-on / 7-days-off rotation, with 12-hour shifts and possible swing shifts from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM or 12:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Work is project-based and takes place at remote locations across Canada. This is a safety-sensitive role.
Key Duties

- Learn to assemble and disassemble equipment on site.
- Operate solids control systems such as shaker tanks, centrifuges, drying units, and pumps.
- Build working knowledge of environmental service practices.
- Gain understanding of core electrical concepts.
- Learn drilling fluid properties and perform fluid testing and analysis, including weight, funnel viscosity, retort analysis, and related checks.
- Support solids control tasks such as air drilling, barite recovery, de-watering, floc water handling, fluid transfers, low-gravity solids targeting, and cuttings drying/invert recovery.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic electrical maintenance on equipment.
- Safely assist with heavy equipment operation under supervision.
- Keep the work area clean using pressure-washing equipment.
- Take part in daily safety meetings.
- Complete PJRA/JSA forms, inspections, observations, and checklists as needed.
- Wear required PPE at all times while on site.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
