About the role
We are looking for a proactive and safety-minded STMS Supervisor to join the team. In this position, you will report to the Operations Manager and take responsibility for making sure temporary traffic management is installed and operated safely, legally, and in full compliance with contract requirements across active worksites.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and manage temporary traffic management safely and effectively, including site layout, Stop/Go operations, and pilot vehicle activities.
- Make sure all paperwork, TMP obligations, and equipment inspections are completed accurately and meet compliance standards.
- Guide and assist Traffic Controllers and other team members so work is delivered safely and efficiently.
- Encourage a strong safety-first approach, maintain SHEQ compliance, and ensure incidents are reported appropriately.
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and clearly communicate ideas that lift operational performance.
Location and hours
This role is based in Paeroa and involves work across the Hauraki District in the Waikato Region. It is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
Compensation
The pay range for this role is NZD 27 to NZD 32 per hour.
About you
You should hold a current practising warrant from the NZTA and have a full Class 1 driver licence as the minimum driving requirement. A background of 2 to 3 years in traffic management is needed, and prior supervisory experience will be an advantage. You will also need strong leadership and communication abilities, along with a clear commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
