Role overview
A client in the FMCG sector is seeking a Supply Chain Cost Controller to oversee inventory control, product costing, COGS, and supply chain finance activities across manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, depots, branches, and third-party logistics operations.
Key responsibilities
- Handle inventory control processes, stock reconciliations, valuation, and variance reviews.
- Own month-end closing tasks linked to inventory, logistics expenses, and cost of goods sold.
- Track inventory flows such as receipts, transfers, dispatches, returns, damage, and write-offs.
- Build and maintain standard costing, landed cost analysis, and profitability reports.
- Oversee physical stock counts at factories, warehouses, depots, and external logistics locations.
- Spot inventory exposure such as slow-moving, near-expiry, damaged, and obsolete items.
- Review supply chain cost drivers and work with Operations, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams on cost-saving initiatives.
Requirements
- 4 to 6 years of experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, supply chain finance, or financial control.
- Experience in FMCG, manufacturing, distribution, or logistics is preferred.
- Solid understanding of inventory valuation, costing, COGS analysis, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on exposure to ERP platforms; Microsoft Dynamics 365 is considered an advantage.
- Advanced Excel skills along with strong analytical capability.
- High attention to detail, a strong sense of ownership, and the ability to challenge operational teams in a constructive way.
Education
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline is required. Professional qualifications such as CMA, ACCA, or CPA are an added advantage.
