Role overview
Transdev Ontario Manitoba is hiring a Talent Acquisition Specialist for the Kitchener-Waterloo area to fill an immediate opening. Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, this position plays a key role in identifying, attracting, and hiring strong candidates across multiple business areas.
In this role, you will work with leaders to clarify hiring needs, shape job requirements, and make sure recruitment practices follow company policies, internal procedures, and current legislation. You will manage the recruitment process end to end, including posting roles, sourcing candidates, evaluating applications, and moving suitable applicants through the Applicant Tracking System.
This opportunity is suited to a motivated recruiter or hiring professional who performs well in a busy environment and wants to grow within talent acquisition. The role is based onsite in the Kitchener office. Hybrid work may be considered after six months of successful performance.
Responsibilities
- Publish open positions and support high-volume hiring so vacancies are filled quickly and effectively.
- Screen and interview candidates, keep applicant records up to date, and ensure prompt follow-up.
- Monitor recruitment activity and prepare regular updates with insights for leaders and cross-functional partners.
- Work with marketing to create social media and advertising campaigns that help attract applicants.
- Support a strong onboarding experience by staying engaged with new hires through the early stages of employment.
- Collect, review, and organize all documentation needed during hiring and onboarding.
- Partner with Operations, Training, and other teams to keep recruitment and onboarding running smoothly.
- Build relationships in the local community to strengthen talent outreach.
- Look for ways to simplify administrative work and improve recruitment efficiency.
- Suggest and implement fresh ideas to attract and secure talent.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Recruitment, or equivalent experience in a transportation setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Results-focused mindset and a goal-driven approach.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
- Ability to manage several assignments at once.
- Capable of working independently with limited supervision.
- Well-developed organization and time management skills.
- Familiarity with HR databases and Applicant Tracking Systems.
- ADP experience is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience handling full-cycle recruitment, including posting, screening, interviewing, offers, and onboarding.
- Ability to source candidates through multiple channels such as grassroots outreach and social media.
- Creative approach to promoting job openings.
- Willingness to travel across Southwestern and Central Ontario as needed.
- Good knowledge of the Kitchener, Waterloo, Stratford, and Central Ontario regions.
- Valid full G driver’s licence and a clean driving record.
- Clear criminal background check.
- Ability to build community connections in the region.
- Previous experience with high-volume hiring in a short timeframe is a strong advantage.
- Availability to work onsite in the Kitchener office.

This is not a remote role. Hybrid arrangements may be considered after six months on the job.
