Role overview

Tortilla Mexican Grill plc is hiring a Team Member for its Lakeside Shopping Centre location in West Thurrock. This is a permanent opportunity, with both part-time and full-time availability. The role offers pay of up to £12.71 per hour, with wages issued every two weeks.

The position is based in a commercial kitchen and includes work with sharp knives as well as the preparation and cooking of hot food. Because of health and safety requirements, applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

What the role involves

As a Team Member, you will represent the front line of the Tortilla brand. The role suits someone who enjoys working with people, can stay upbeat and friendly, and is eager to learn. Previous experience in places such as bars, restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, fast food outlets, or similar environments can be useful, but it is not essential.

The role can also suit candidates with experience in back-of-house kitchen positions such as pot washer, kitchen porter, kitchen assistant, prep chef, commis chef, or line chef, especially if they want to continue working behind the scenes preparing toppings and recipes. It is also a good fit for someone starting out who would like to be cross-trained in customer service.
