Role overview
We are looking for a Technical Store Keeper to join the Maintenance Engineering team in Somerton, Victoria. This is a permanent full-time day shift position focused on keeping technical spares, consumables, and inventory data accurate, available, and well controlled.
To be considered for the role, you should hold a valid forklift licence and either a trade qualification such as mechanical or electrical, or have extensive hands-on experience in engineering.
Key responsibilities
- Handle the full spare-parts process from receipt through to issue, storage, and replenishment, ensuring the right materials are available and inventory is kept under control.
- Review stock levels and refine reorder points so they remain aligned with maintenance requirements.
- Track slow-moving and outdated items and take steps to reduce surplus stock and improve turnover.
- Carry out inventory control activities such as cycle counts and user coaching to improve accuracy and compliance.
- Set up and maintain material master records in SAP with a focus on consistency and data quality.
- Prepare and update bills of materials for equipment and functional locations to improve visibility of parts, support maintenance planning, and reduce downtime.
- Administer purchasing data, including purchase order pricing and Purchasing Info Records, in line with procurement procedures.
- Submit and follow up requests via the PIR Buyer Support system for master data corrections, price updates, and purchase order adjustments.
- Track purchase order progress, manage overdue orders, and coordinate with suppliers to avoid shortages and production interruptions.
- Keep the work area in strong order by following 5S standards and site safety expectations.
- Contribute as a member of the Preventive Maintenance pillar within the TPM framework.
