Job summary
This role is focused on building and delivering sales-oriented learning programs that strengthen product understanding, selling capability, and customer advisory skills. The Training Manager will work closely with sales leadership to lift team performance, improve conversion outcomes, and support premium growth. A key part of the job is measuring the effectiveness of learning through KPIs and keeping the training approach up to date and effective.
Key responsibilities
The Training Manager will oversee the full operation of the Sales Academy, set its direction, manage budgets, and make sure programs run smoothly. The role also involves leading training staff, coaching and mentoring team members, and creating a supportive environment that encourages learning and collaboration. In partnership with sales leaders, the manager will align learning initiatives with business priorities and performance goals.
The position requires conducting detailed training needs analysis to identify capability gaps using market developments, industry changes, company initiatives, and employee performance information. Based on these insights, the manager will create high-impact learning content covering product knowledge, sales methods, communication, compliance, and related topics. Training may be delivered through classroom sessions, digital learning, blended formats, gamified experiences, and simulations to suit different learning preferences.
The manager will also facilitate engaging training sessions designed to improve retention and practical application of skills. In addition, the role includes evaluating program effectiveness through data review and stakeholder feedback, then using those findings to refine and enhance future learning interventions. Keeping current with adult learning theory, modern training techniques, and learning technologies is also essential.
Relationship management is another important part of the role. The Training Manager will maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders across sales, HR, product, and compliance functions, and may also collaborate with external trainers and subject-matter experts to bring in best practices and innovative solutions. The role also includes advocating for learning and development across the organization and showing how training contributes to performance and business success.
