Role overview

This full-time Utility Worker position with Sodexo is based at PROVIDENCE ACADEMY - 55656001 in Johnson City, TN. The role supports food service and facility operations by keeping production and service areas clean, organized, and sanitary.

Shift schedules vary, with days and hours changing by need. Open availability is preferred, and additional scheduling details will be shared during the interview.

The advertised pay rate is $7.25 to $21.30 per hour.

What you will do

In this position, you will help maintain day-to-day cleanliness and order across kitchen and related service spaces. Tasks may include washing dishes, cleaning equipment and surfaces, moving and storing supplies, and supporting setup and cleanup activities as assigned.

• Wash dishes manually or operate a dishwashing machine.
• Clean and disinfect worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and otherwise maintain floors.
• Remove trash and garbage to the proper disposal areas.
• Use approved cleaning chemicals to keep equipment sanitary.
• Restock basic supplies such as soap, paper towels, and cleaning materials.
• Support significant walking and overall mobility throughout the shift.
• Remain on your feet for long periods, including shifts that may run beyond 8 hours.
• Regularly bend, reach, stoop, push, and pull as needed.
• Lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Arrive on time and attend scheduled shifts consistently.
• Take on additional duties as required by the account or business needs.

What you should bring

The role calls for a high school diploma, a GED, or equivalent experience. No prior related work experience is required. You should also have an understanding of sanitation practices and basic food safety principles.
