Bakul Foundation is a volunteer-led initiative focused on creating a kinder society, stronger environmental awareness, and a deeper love for reading. Its work spans libraries, storytelling, ecological drives, cultural activities, youth engagement, and community development efforts, and it has engaged thousands of volunteers across Odisha.

Role Summary

The Volunteer Manager will support the coordination of volunteers, community programs, events, and day-to-day operations at Bakul Foundation. This role suits someone who enjoys working with people, values volunteerism, and can combine planning ability with a commitment to social impact.

Volunteer Engagement and Leadership

• Bring in new volunteers, introduce them to the organization, keep them involved, and encourage long-term participation across Bakul’s activities.
• Strengthen the volunteer network and create an active, service-oriented community.
• Spot volunteers with leadership potential and support their growth.
• Organize volunteer involvement in campaigns, events, and project work.

Program and Event Coordination

• Organize and deliver community gatherings, cultural activities, storytelling festivals, reading drives, environmental initiatives, and similar programs.
• Handle event logistics, partner coordination, and deployment of volunteers for different activities.
• Contribute to the planning and rollout of new initiatives and campaigns.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as a representative of Bakul Foundation in discussions with government bodies, schools and colleges, corporate partners, and other collaborating organizations.
• Develop and maintain connections with community leaders, donors, and other supporters.
• Ensure smooth communication between volunteers, team members, and external stakeholders.

Operations and Administration

• Assist with the everyday administrative work of the foundation.
• Support the operation of Bakul Libraries and related programs.
• Keep volunteer records, documentation, databases, and progress reports up to date.
• Assist with basic financial and administrative tasks when needed.

Communication and Outreach

• Coordinate volunteer communication through meetings, newsletters, social media, and other channels.
• Help capture and share stories, outcomes, and achievements from volunteers and projects.
• Promote the foundation’s mission and work to broader audiences.

Eligibility

Graduates and postgraduates from any field are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and people skills, be able to work on their own initiative, and show interest in social change, reading promotion, environmental sustainability, and community development. Prior experience in volunteering, youth leadership, event coordination, community engagement, or social-sector work is an advantage.
