Role overview

HealthVerity is hiring an experienced technology operations leader to shape and run a scalable, secure, and cost-conscious operations function. Reporting to the CTO, this role will set the direction for cloud platform operations, corporate IT/end-user computing, and financial discipline across technology spend. The position carries accountability for reliability, employee productivity, and the cost effectiveness of the company’s technology estate, including oversight of major vendors such as AWS, Databricks, and other cloud, data, and IT providers.

What you will lead

  • Create and drive a single operations strategy covering cloud infrastructure and platform services, corporate IT and end-user computing, and FinOps, with clear alignment to business priorities and financial goals.
  • Convert the strategy into measurable targets such as reliability SLAs, IT service performance, and cost efficiency metrics, then share progress with executive leadership.
  • Own vendor spending for AWS, Databricks, and related technology partners, making sure budgets are tied to actual usage and performance needs.
  • Build and run a structured FinOps practice focused on transparency, forecasting quality, unit economics, tagging discipline, commitment discount planning, and showback/chargeback.
  • Create reporting and operating rhythms to track and communicate savings initiatives and cost optimization results.
  • Develop platform capabilities that help engineers move faster, including infrastructure-as-a-service, CI/CD, observability, and self-service tooling.
  • Lead the company’s internal IT and employee technology experience, including device management, identity and access, SaaS administration, helpdesk support, and employee onboarding/offboarding.
  • Set clear service commitments for IT support and improve ticketing, escalation, and self-service so employees can resolve issues quickly.
  • Work with Security and Compliance to ensure internal IT controls meet regulatory expectations without creating unnecessary friction for staff.
  • Recruit, coach, and grow a multi-discipline team spanning cloud platform, IT, and FinOps, while building a culture of reliability, innovation, and proactive ownership.
  • Manage key technology partnerships and evaluate new cloud, data, and IT solutions that can improve the operating model and lower costs.
  • Strengthen reliability, resilience, and scalability through cloud best practices, observability, and performance monitoring.
  • Own disaster recovery and business continuity planning, including regular testing and executive reporting on readiness.

Experience and qualifications

  • At least 5 years in technology operations leadership, with direct responsibility for large AWS environments and the budgets supporting them.
  • At least 5 years leading hybrid or distributed teams across more than one discipline, such as cloud platform, IT, FinOps, or SRE.
  • Proven success in vendor management and budget optimization, especially with AWS, Databricks, and similar cloud, data, and IT suppliers, with measurable savings.
  • Background running or closely partnering with corporate IT/end-user computing functions, including identity, SaaS, devices, and helpdesk operations.
  • Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP.
  • Strong incident management experience, along with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with senior executives and translate technical operations into business outcomes for the CEO and COO.

Compensation and benefits

The base salary for this role is commensurate with experience and is expected to range from $225,000 to $275,000, plus an annual bonus opportunity.

Full-time employees in permanent roles are eligible for the company’s benefits package, which includes health, dental, and vision coverage starting on day one, a 401(k) plan, and an equity program. New hire equity grants begin at Director level and above.

Additional benefits include flexible location arrangements, with three in-office days per week for team members in the Philadelphia area, generous PTO targeted at four weeks per year, paid parental leave, onboarding support, and an annual professional development budget.
