This position is for a Work Inspector based in Doha, Qatar, supporting structural and civil site activities on major infrastructure projects. The role focuses on ensuring that construction work is executed in line with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and quality standards.

Key duties

  • Check structural works directly on site, covering concrete, steel, formwork, rebar, precast components, and related civil works.
  • Track contractor operations to confirm they follow approved shop drawings, method statements, material requirements, and project specifications.
  • Escalate any defects, delays, or departures from contract requirements to the Site Engineer or Resident Engineer.
  • Observe material tests and help ensure quality control procedures are applied correctly.
  • Keep detailed site documentation, including daily inspection notes, progress records, and photo logs.
  • Examine contractor daily reports and assess whether manpower and equipment levels are sufficient.
  • Work with inspectors from other disciplines to settle interface matters and support smooth coordination between work packages.
  • Take part in technical discussions and progress meetings when needed.
  • Support the review of method statements and inspection/test plans from an on-site implementation viewpoint.
  • Make sure health, safety, and environmental rules are consistently followed on site.

Required background

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in structural inspection work, ideally on infrastructure or roads and highways projects.
  • Experience on Ashghal projects or with a GEC in Qatar is strongly preferred.
  • Solid knowledge of structural construction practices and quality assurance methods.
  • Familiarity with international standards and codes such as ACI, BS, and ASTM.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear technical reports.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office; construction management software experience is an advantage.
