About the Service and Work Environment

What the Role Involves
The Assistant Support Worker, alongside the Social Care Worker, helps deliver care and support to service users. Training and guidance are provided so you can build your skills, work professionally with colleagues, and contribute to high-quality support.
The purpose of the role is to help people progress towards their goals and live meaningful lives through the services provided.
Day-to-Day Duties
- Assist individuals in following their daily plans
- Support service users during community activities
- Encourage participation in education, skills development, and personal goal achievement
- Help with everyday living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, and visiting family
- Follow company policies, procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice to the extent reasonably and practically possible
- Work on a shift basis across a 24/7 service
Skills and Entry Criteria
No formal qualification is needed for the Assistant Support Worker role, as all required training will be provided. For Social Care Worker positions, a Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Social Care, Healthcare, or a related field is required, along with CORU registration.
Previous life experience is helpful but not essential. A positive attitude and genuine commitment to supporting people are important. A full driving licence is required, or the applicant must already be in the process of obtaining one.
