About the role
Singtel is looking for an Associate Engineer to support facilities and property operations at its Singapore premises and tenanted spaces. The role sits within Singtel Networks, an infrastructure team that is expanding its capabilities across areas such as 5G, cloud, analytics, digital commerce, software engineering, and cyber security. What you will do
- Oversee the managing agent’s delivery of property management services for Singtel’s premises and leased spaces.
- Review and confirm scheduled maintenance work, and track follow-up actions so mechanical and electrical systems remain serviceable and operational.
- Examine repair and improvement proposals, including cost estimates, and support approval processes for minor works in line with financial guidelines.
- Make sure tenant and user complaints are addressed without delay.
- Carry out site inspections to confirm that work is completed properly.
- Ensure that as-built drawings and operation and maintenance manuals for architectural, structural, and M&E systems are kept current.
- Track the timely renewal and maintenance of statutory permits and certificates such as lift, fire, and EMA licences.
- Escalate major breakdowns, including power failures and air-conditioning issues, as well as emergencies such as fire or security incidents, to the Senior Manager / Manager (Facilities) and follow through with the managing agent for prompt resolution.
- Support the Senior Manager / Manager (Facilities) in preparing Wavier of Competition approval documents for specialist contractors and suppliers.
- Assist with preparation of annual operating and capital budgets.
- Perform regular audits to confirm that the managing agent maintains accurate financial records for all transactions.
- Help review fire-safety programmes, evacuation plans, and related documents prepared by the managing agent’s Fire Safety Manager to ensure Fire Code compliance.
- Monitor implementation of fire-safety initiatives and evacuation plans by the managing agent.
- Oversee fire drills and review the Fire drill ERP and report.
Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- About 1 to 2 years of experience in building and facilities management or maintenance.
- Experience in workplace safety and health planning and implementation.
- Fire and Safety Management certification will be an added advantage.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Able to work collaboratively in a team while also functioning independently when needed.
