About the company
Blue Mountain develops asset management and calibration software for life sciences manufacturers, helping them keep equipment validated, compliant, and ready for inspection. The work sits in a tightly regulated setting, so the product must support electronic records and signatures that meet 21 CFR Part 11 requirements, dependable audit trails for FDA inspections, and strong data integrity. Because compliance is central to the product, the role carries meaningful technical and business complexity.
The company is entering a major growth phase. Following strategic backing from Five Arrows, the private equity business of Rothschild & Co, and the acquisition of CompuCal as part of its Europe expansion, Blue Mountain is increasing investment in both its platform and its team. Role overview
As a Business Development Representative, you will support growth by identifying new opportunities, opening conversations with future customers, and showing life sciences manufacturers how Blue Mountain can address operational and compliance needs.
You will work closely with Account Executives and the Marketing team to create qualified opportunities, build account-level outreach plans, and serve as an early point of contact for prospects in Ireland, the UK, Europe, and other markets.
What you will do
- Research prospects, contact them through outbound and inbound channels, and uncover their business needs through thoughtful conversations.
- Evaluate incoming and outbound leads by understanding challenges and matching them to Blue Mountain’s offering.
- Develop lasting relationships with potential customers and guide them toward qualified sales opportunities.
- Find and progress new business prospects in life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and regulated manufacturing.
- Arrange discovery calls and meetings between qualified prospects and Account Executives.
- Work with Marketing on campaigns, events, webinars, and digital engagement initiatives to build awareness.
- Support Account Executives in creating strategic account plans with multiple entry routes into target companies.
- Create and distribute useful content that informs and engages prospects throughout the buying cycle.
- Represent the company at conferences, networking events, and customer visits to grow relationships and market presence.
- Keep CRM records accurate and up to date, including activity, pipeline, and lead information.
What you need
- At least 1–3+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales Development, Lead Generation, Inside Sales, or another customer-facing B2B position.
- A strong interest in building a career in enterprise software and technology sales.
- The ability to ask insightful questions and dig into customer pain points.
- Confidence with outbound calling, personalized outreach, and relationship building from the first interaction.
- Good organization and the ability to manage several prospects and priorities at the same time.
- Prior exposure to CRM tools such as Salesforce would be an advantage.
- Background in SaaS, software, manufacturing technology, engineering solutions, or life sciences is highly preferred.
- A team-oriented approach and the willingness to collaborate across Sales and Marketing.

Location and travel
This role is based in Cork, Ireland. It involves roughly 10–25% travel for customer meetings, industry events, and company gatherings across Ireland, the UK, and Europe.
