Position Overview
This is a full-time buyer role based in Downtown Orlando with a Monday through Friday schedule and full on-site presence. The position sits within Orlando Health’s purchasing and supply management function and supports the organization’s procurement operations across departments.

Role Summary
The Buyer is accountable for core purchasing and supply management activities, including purchase order processing, vendor coordination, exception handling, and making sure orders are received. The role also supports contract compliance at the transaction level and assists the purchasing agent and sourcing team with vendor and market research for goods and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and send purchase orders after confirming specifications, pricing, and department approvals.
- Use technology and data analysis to review purchasing patterns, interpret trends, and support decisions.
- Take part in evaluating products, goods, and services before buying them and confirm that standards remain in place afterward.
- Ensure purchasing activity follows internal and external compliance requirements.
- Coordinate closely with assigned departments so products and services are delivered on time.
- Collect and compare quotations, then suggest suppliers based on value, quality, and delivery performance.
- Review purchase history to identify savings opportunities.
- Support the procurement of substitutions that need clinical approval and coordinate between clinical teams and suppliers.
- Work with cross-functional groups on product launches, conversions, changes, and discontinuations.
- Make sound business decisions that align with established processes and departmental objectives.
- Look for ways to improve operational efficiency.
- Communicate direction and information clearly in both spoken and written form.
- Provide planning and control information by gathering, organizing, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Follow Orlando Health policies and procedures at all times.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance in line with Orlando Health and applicable legal standards.
- Review and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Negotiate pricing with vendors.
- Help teammates use systems correctly and follow approved workflows.
- Support efforts to standardize contracted and approved products.
- Handle additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with 3 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a related field.
An associate degree or a Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) credential, combined with 1 year of relevant purchasing, supply chain, or related experience, may replace up to 3 years of the required experience.
No license or certification is required.
