Heritage Lifecare is seeking a full-time Caregiver to join Coldstream Lifecare & Village in Ashburton, Canterbury. This position sits within a 58-bed rest home and hospital, alongside an 11-unit village, and offers the chance to contribute to residents’ wellbeing in a friendly, supportive care setting.

Role details

• Full-time position of 32 hours per week
• Based in Coldstream Lifecare & Village, Ashburton, Canterbury
• Shifts include mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends
• Pay rate of $31.23 per hour

What the role involves

In this role, you will support residents with compassionate day-to-day care and help maintain a safe, warm, and respectful environment. The position requires a caring attitude, the ability to build positive connections, and a commitment to providing high-quality support that helps residents feel valued and comfortable.

Skills and experience

The ideal candidate will already have experience supporting others, preferably in an aged care environment, along with strong communication and interpersonal abilities. A patient, cheerful approach and a genuine desire to help people are essential, as is a solid understanding of health and safety practices and a mindset focused on ongoing improvement.

Qualifications

A minimum NZQA Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or an equivalent New Zealand or overseas qualification such as a Bachelor of Nursing or Diploma in Nursing, is required. At least 1 year of experience in a caregiver or similar position is also expected.
