Cashier

Overview

IGA, Inc. is hiring a cashier for its Three Hills, Alberta location. This is an on-site role, which means all work must be performed at the store; remote work is not available.

Language

English is required for this position.

Education and experience

No degree, certificate, or diploma is needed. The employer will provide training, so prior experience is not required.

Key duties

• Handle transactions using the cash register.
• Accept cash, cheques, and debit or credit card payments.
• Scan merchandise accurately.
• Add up the amount due for products or services.
• Collect payment from customers.
• Count cash at the end of a shift and compare it with total sales.
• Welcome customers and provide helpful service.
• Bag or wrap purchased items.
• Weigh produce and bulk items.
• Support customers using self-checkout systems.
