Core accountabilities

Develop and publish engaging community stories, such as contributor features, project spotlights, and personal narratives that highlight the ecosystem’s impact.
Support and participate in Discord activity by greeting members, guiding conversations, running community events like AMAs or watch parties, and helping maintain an inclusive space.
Help manage social media channels with marketing partners so that posts feel authentic, relevant, and aligned with the community’s tone.
Assist with planning and delivery of virtual and in-person events, including conferences, meetups, and industry events, covering logistics, communication, and follow-up content.
Contribute to contributor appreciation efforts, including swag coordination and timely recognition initiatives.
Collect, edit, and reuse community-generated material such as videos, event summaries, and tutorials to strengthen engagement and storytelling.
Partner with moderators and cross-functional teammates to keep community spaces healthy, active, and aligned with organizational principles.

Requirements

At least 2 to 3 years of experience in community management, social media, communications, content creation, or a related field.
Practical experience working with Discord communities, whether through moderation, engagement, or active community-building.
Ability to manage social channels in a way that drives real interaction rather than focusing only on vanity metrics.
Exposure to event support or event coordination, including logistics and on-site execution.
Strong organization and prioritization skills for a fast-moving, community-led setting.
Excellent English writing and speaking ability.
Basic video editing experience is advantageous.
Must be located in Europe and authorized to work in the region.
Interest or familiarity with open-source communities, smart home products, or Home Assistant is beneficial.
