Role overview
AMPIN-Association des Masters IP/IT - Droit de la propriété intellectuelle Droit du numérique is hiring a part-time Data Analyst at entry/junior level for a hybrid arrangement in Melbourne, Victoria. The position combines on-site work with work-from-home days.
What you will do
In this role, you will assist with collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from several sources connected to intellectual property and digital law work. You will also support basic exploratory analysis, create descriptive summaries, and contribute to simple data models that help with reporting and decision-making. The position includes helping build dashboards and reports, turning findings into practical insights, explaining results in plain language to internal teams, keeping datasets well documented and orderly, and working with colleagues on ongoing data and research activities.

Suitable candidates should have some foundation through study or practical exposure in data analytics and statistics, including spreadsheets or analytics tools. A basic understanding of data modeling is expected, along with an eagerness to develop more advanced skills. Strong written and verbal communication is important, especially for presenting insights to non-technical audiences. An academic background in data analytics, statistics, computer science, economics, business, or a related discipline is relevant, whether completed or still in progress. Experience with Excel or Google Sheets is useful, and introductory knowledge of SQL, Python, or R would be an advantage. Candidates should be able to work independently as well as with others in a hybrid setup, manage deadlines effectively, and show interest in intellectual property, digital law, or related legal and technology areas.
