About the Team

This role is for a Data Scientist who can convert complex, messy facility data into practical models and systems that improve the way buildings are managed. The work spans the complete AI lifecycle, from feasibility assessment and architecture planning to production rollout, with clear impact on sustainability and operational efficiency.

This is a hands-on delivery role rather than a pure research position. The selected candidate will build solutions across hybrid environments, including on-premises setups, Azure, and AWS, while working closely with product teams, developers, and architects. The role also contributes to the AI strategy for the business unit and involves mentoring junior data scientists, conducting workshops, and helping product teams adopt and maintain AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement AI solutions using traditional machine learning, GenAI, and agent-based architectures across Azure, AWS, and on-premises systems.
• Build complete pipelines covering data collection, model training, evaluation, and deployment into production.
• Partner with product teams to turn business needs into workable AI/ML solutions and collaborate with developers and engineers to put them into practice.
• Support the AI roadmap by assessing feasibility, reviewing new technologies, and identifying where AI can deliver the greatest business value.
• Promote strong AI practices across the organization by conducting training sessions, mentoring colleagues, sharing best practices, and supporting responsible AI governance.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in AI/ML, with practical exposure to GenAI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, prompt engineering, and agent orchestration such as MCP and A2A.
• A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is expected; an advanced degree is beneficial, though strong hands-on experience is the most important factor.
• Strong programming ability in Python, along with real-world experience using ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Keras, plus NLP.
• Experience building and deploying scalable cloud-native applications on Azure and/or AWS using PaaS and IaaS services.
• Comfort working across the stack with tools such as Angular, React, Node.js, or Streamlit, and with SQL/NoSQL databases for prototyping end-to-end solutions.
• Working knowledge of modern delivery practices, including CI/CD, GitHub Actions, DevSecOps, SonarQube, and Agile methods.
• Ability to explain technical and business concepts clearly to both product owners and engineers.
