About the Role
John Paul Construction is looking to add a Design Manager in Germany as part of its ongoing growth. The company places strong value on continuous improvement, teamwork, fresh thinking, and the use of modern technologies across its projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the site team to oversee setting out for the project, with particular focus on aligning architectural and engineering information.
- Coordinate utilities and services between mechanical and electrical engineers and the relevant utility providers, together with the site team.
- Partner with the Project Manager or Site Manager to create and keep up to date the schedule of information requirements, issue the required information to the architect and/or engineer according to the contract programme, and report any delays or issues.
- Manage the technical submittal process for all project components, including creating and maintaining a tracking system that monitors submittal status against the contract programme.
- Review the technical submittal log on a regular basis and keep the Project Manager informed of progress or any problems that arise.
- Build and maintain a procurement tracking schedule using approved technical submittals and, where applicable, approved costs, in line with the contract programme.
- Respond quickly to questions raised during the contract period and ensure every query is properly logged and handled in an organised way.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of professional experience as a Design Manager on data centre projects.
- A relevant third-level qualification in engineering or architecture.
- Experience working for a main contractor is an advantage.
- Strong focus on detail, planning, and organisation.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver under tight timelines.
- Clear and effective communication skills for working with colleagues and clients.
